JAZZ DUO House Villebon

Thursday, October 14, 2010 at 19 h 30 - followed by a talk

Villebon House for his next show hosts a jazz concert, form a duo, with Matthew Belanger clarinets and Wayne Smith , on bass. This show will blow jazz tunes and compositions Common Trip.
Stanley Pean, host of radio's cultural network Radio-Canada wrote on Matthew Belanger " In jazz, you know, the first quality of a great soloist, the style is to have a sound unlike any other. Matthew Belanger is a great soloist. To verify this, just listen hard bassist Normand Guilbeault, pianist Yves Léveillé and master vibraphonist Jean Vanasse which he participated. In my opinion, it is among the most amazing improvisers Montreal. This certainty, I learned from the first few times I heard the jam sessions of Café Sarajevo. (...) Therefore, I'd kindly nicknamed "the clarinetist crazy" to salute his prodigious technique, his volubility and his intense play properly "Coltrane". Through my mind these solo (...) where the groove of the rhythm section supported Belanger aligned chorus after chorus, crescendo and diminuendo, without ever giving the impression that the breath or inspiration could fail him. "

An impressive duo. An outstanding duo. duo where the complicity between Matthew Belanger and Wayne Smith is such that it seems as solid as a full quartet!

In total, almost 1000 people that patrolled the area Aurelius -Dubois and participate in activities. The organizers of these Days of culture are met. Pleased with the turnout and all the partnerships established between agencies.

Some strong points of Days of culture: the opening event of the launch of the Cultural Policy was an undoubted success. In the presence of members Lessard and gentlemen Curzi, de Diane Lavoie Mayor Beloeil, many partners and a few curious, the launch took place in an atmosphere festive. Thrown out on the porch of the house Villebon, about fifty people attended the event. After the inevitable period of speech, two leaders held a percussion percussion jam by offering publicly 40 djembe (African drum - see photo above).

Guests could also enjoy the work of artisans from the workshop of stained glass, sculpture, stone and wood, to meet members of the Historical Society of Beloeil, Mont-Saint- Hilary and finally, discuss with the artist who donated a work of art at the Beloeil, Suzanne Perreault . Ms. Perreault also exhibited his works in the rooms of the house Villebon.

At night, the Poets of the Montérégie gathered inside the house Villebon for an evening of poetry. Exceptional evening filled with touching and funny moments.
On Saturday, nearly 85 members Choir Mountain arose on the porch, along the balustrade of the House Villebon. So majestic, they offered a concert of 45 minutes and presented two parts with several citizens who were from the morning practice with them.
The photo shoot was also another success, with almost 40 people agreed to have their picture taken in exchange for a short sentence about what culture is for them. The photos will also appear on the site and soon http://www.jemaffichepourlaculture.com/ framed and on display at the library.
