graduate Cégep du Vieux-Montreal in interior design, Chantal Lagacé has always been attracted to the shapes, volumes, colors. She likes to make plans, these perspectives, creating spaces by highlighting materials, textures.
For several years, the work of designer feeds. But there comes a point where she feels the need to further explore the need to let go of these currents of colors, the textures, these volumes which inhabit it constantly. She wants to touch the material, work it, smell it, feel it! She has a mad desire to create! An emergency to paint!
artistic approach Chantal Lagacé is therefore an exploration. She never decides what it will do in advance. Each painting is a discovery, a surprise. It's the unknown that propels it, which pushes her to further explore the harmony between shapes and colors, the balance between the spots and lines. It is a dialogue intense that installs between the brushes, colors and the table.
