Bourg-en-Bresse (Borg Arpitan, pronounced Boo) is a French commune, prefecture of the department of Ain in the Rhône-Alpes. The pronunciation of the name of the city (in French) is [burkãbres] or [Burke]. The inhabitants are called Burgienne. The adjective Bressan, once used, now no longer refers to the Bresse.
